Vivian Harberts represented the University of Bremen’s Institut Technik und Bildung (ITB) at the #ECER VETNET-Europe Conference in Belgrade from 8-9 September 2025. There, she presented about DEVISE4Kenya with her presentation: “Promoting Digital and Transversal Competences through Work-Based Learning in Resource-Constrained VET”.
It was wonderful to showcase our DEVISE4Kenya research in rural Kenya and demonstrate how Learning and Work Tasks (LWTs) can help develop digital and transversal skills while addressing resource challenges in vocational education.
An article written by Vivian Harberts and Dr Julian Ng was submitted for the conference and published in VETNET’s “Trends in Vocational Education and Training Research (Volume 8)” .
This year’s ECER conference was a wonderful experience with inspiring lectures, rich discussions, and meeting up with colleagues from across Europe and beyond.
