Learning and Work Task Activity (LWT) at Miramba

DigComp Evaluation in Action at Miramba

Miramba Mixed Secondary School in Homa Bay carried out an exciting pilot. Having trained all the teachers in digital skills according to the DigComp framework, they set about building capacity among their students.

On 27 April, 20206, students at the school were given three tasks:

  • become familiar with and learn how to use the Task Manager
  • do a locally-created Learning and Work Task and understand what learning success means
  • completing the DigComp questionnaire on their digital skills and ability

The event was a big success because it was the first time a digital lesson was enacted formally within the school. More importantly, the lesson was devised and designed by the school’s teachers. This is a game-changing moment for a school that traditionally did not even have electricity, let alone electronic devices.

The DEVISE4KE project is pleased to have made this possible for Miramba and the other 2 mixed secondary schools in Homa Bay. Long may this continue!
